Private Label/Custom Manufacturing

Before You Apply for Private Label
Before submitting a Private Label application, please take a moment to read the following information. It will help ensure our product offering aligns with your needs and expectations.

What Is Private Label?
Private Label refers to products that Washpool already makes, supplied without our branding, so you can package and sell them under your own label.

These products are:

• Made with the same care, quality, and attention to detail as our Washpool-branded range

• Artisanally crafted, cold processed soap and natural personal care products

• Supplied bare/unlabelled for you to customise with your own name, branding, and packaging

You're free to set your own pricing based on your market and customers. Many of our clients enjoy margins between 100% and 500% above the purchase price.

To protect your brand and ours, we ask that you:

• Give your products original names (please don't use the same names as our Washpool products)

• Use your own photography (not Washpool images)

• Respect the confidentiality of our working relationship (we never share client details with others)

Note: Private Label does not include formula, scent, or size customisation. If you need changes, see “Custom Manufacturing” below.

Why Our Soap Is Different
Washpool specialises in cold processed, handmade soap — made from scratch in small batches using:

• Nourishing plant oils and butters

• Pure essential oils

• Skin-loving botanicals

Unlike commercial milled soap (which is often made from palm oil bases, stripped of glycerin, and heavily scented), our soap:

• Retains natural glycerin

• Is gentle, skin-nourishing, and made with integrity

• Appeals to customers who value natural, local, small-batch products

Our Private Label offering is ideal for businesses that value:

• High quality, handcrafted products

• Natural, transparent ingredients

• Ethical, regional production

• A close connection to the maker

If you're seeking low-cost, mass-produced soap with synthetic scent and high margins, our products may not be the right fit.

Custom Manufacturing (Optional)
If you’d like to tailor a product (within limits), our Custom Manufacturing service may be a good option.

We can accommodate moderate changes such as:

• Swapping colour or scents between bars or ranges

• Adding a hero ingredient (e.g. hemp, calendula, manuka honey)

A $250 custom development fee applies, which includes:

• Consultation and goal setting

• Formula development

• A small test batch (usually 1kg of soap)

Custom pricing is calculated using our production software and is usually close to wholesale rates, with adjustments only for ingredients or labour differences.

Changes to Formulas
We regularly review our product formulas based on:

• Customer feedback

• Ingredient availability and cost

• Sales trends

We may occasionally:

• Update or discontinue a product

• Adjust pricing if input costs change

We’ll give you as much notice as possible. If you're planning a large packaging run, please let us know so we can avoid changes that may impact your product presentation.

Ordering & Production
To keep things running smoothly:

Default Order Instructions: Let us know during checkout which items you want as Private Label (bare). You can also set this in your online account.

Lead Times: Most Private Label orders take 2–3 weeks to fulfill. Let us know early so we can book your batch into our production schedule.

Minimum Order Quantities
Our standard Private Label batch sizes (please ask if a product you're interested in isn't listed):

• Bar soaps (110g): Sets of 10 (bare); 126-bar minimum for custom soap

• Shaving soap (180g): 40 units

• Shea balm: 60 units

• Lip balm: 200 units

• Hand & body wash: 20 litres in either 250ml or 500ml or a combination

• Bath bombs: 90 units per scent

• Beard oil: 20 units per scent

Smaller runs may be possible if your timing is flexible and we’re already making that product for our own stock.

Containers
We use our standard containers, supplied bare. You are responsible for labelling.
If you'd like us to fill your own containers, please contact us — this may be arranged by negotiation.
