I love this moisturising cream, it's a little heavier than other moisturisers but that's what I need for my hands. I really love the floral scents. I'm not sure what another reviewer was referring to as I don't find the scent woody or old at all - it's light and like springtime.

Was looking forward to using the product as these are some of my favourite scents. There was very little scent, smelt woody and old. The product is very thick and took some time to absorb into my skin. Quite costly . Would not purchase again.

Thank you for your honest opinion, Donna. We're sorry you didn't love our Body Butter formula but hope to highlight a few points that might help others make an informed choice. Formulating to suit a range of needs and preferences is always tricky, however we're guided by best practice and this formula conforms to Cosmos standards with 99.7 % natural and 81.45% organic ingredients. Our high quality ingredients definitely push up our cost of production, but our 'direct to client' marketing model means we can provide exceptional quality at a fraction of the cost of our competitors. We agree that the scent is subtle and this is because we adhere to guidelines set by International Fragrance Association (IFRA) for scenting leave on body products. Although the guidelines are voluntary, we consider them to be a good foundation for formulating for health and safety. The woody scent you're detecting might be the Rosewood or Patchouli, both of which are base notes. Base notes offer longevity to the scent on the skin whereas florals tend to be more prone to lifting. All ingredients are provided in the product listing. The natural scent of the emulsifier, oils and butters does come through in the body butter but we prefer this to the RBD (refined, bleached and deodorised) non-organic ingredients. We're so confident of the freshness of these ingredients and the good manufacturing practices that we expect an 18 month shelf life when stored in reasonable conditions. Body butters contain less water and more emollient oils and butters (like shea butter) than body lotions or body creams and are therefore the richest of moisturisers. Our Replenishing Body Butter offers an intense boost in hydration plus protection from the elements.
